FIRST NATIONS AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT LAND USE PLANNING REGIONAL WORKSHOP: Understanding and Sharing Land Use Frameworks

  • This event has passed.

NOVEMBER 12-14, 2024

Thunderbird Hall, Campbell River, BC

We acknowledge this event takes place on the unceded territory of the Liǧʷiɫdax̌ʷ people of the We Wai Kai and Wei Wai Kum Nations. This gratitude extends to the many Indigenous Nations on whose territories we work, live and play.

Do you work in land use planning? Curious about how UNDRIP impacts the ways local governments and First Nations in B.C. are working together? Join us for a 2.5-day workshop specifically designed to enhance connections and understanding between First Nations and local government on land use frameworks and identify tools for developing shared land use practices.

With the input of experienced practitioners from First Nations and local governments, this workshop features regionally curated content for the Vancouver Island and Coast region. The registration is open to First Nations and local government staff from this region only.

Register online by November 4, 2024.

This workshop aims to strengthen the dialogue between First Nations and local governments, providing valuable tools and strategies for developing shared land use practices. Participants will explore the intersections of land use planning through interactive sessions, discussions, and presentations led by experts in the field.

For any questions, contact LGMA office at office@lgma.ca.

LGMA and FNPSS gratefully acknowledges the financial support of FortisBC.
