Foundations of First Nation Administration – Day 10

The 8-week comprehensive introductory series features over 30 sessions ranging from virtual presentations by experts in their field to keynote speakers, coaching / learning sessions and a 3 day in-person workshop.

The series covers a range of topics related to First Nations Administration including but not limited to:

  • Roles in First Nations Government and Administration
  • Understanding Current Realities
  • Planning Tools
  • Financial Fundamentals
  • Communications and Engagement
  • Embodying Leadership
  • Human Resources Management
  • Change Management
  • Partnerships and Relationships
  • Self-Government
  • Land Use, Infrastructure and Housing
  • Administering Programs
  • Records and Information Management

Program Dates and Delivery

Virtual Program

Dates: May 3, 2022 – June 16, 2022
Days: Weekly: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Times: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (T/Th) and 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (W)

In-Person Program

Dates: Monday, June 27, Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29, 2022
Times: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: TBD

The learning series will be exclusive to First Nations Band Managers, Chief Administrative Officers, Executive Directors, or those in an equivalent role looking to expand their network, skills, and abilities. FNPSS is pleased to offer travel reimbursement and the full learning series at no cost to participants who meet the eligibility requirements.
