Are you a new, seasoned, or aspiring administrator or elected leader in a BC First Nation hoping to take your leadership skills to the next level? If so, this training is designed for you! Participants in Part 1 (“Leading Self”) and Part 2 (“Leading Others”) have overwhelmingly recommended this program, the resources they received, the facilitators and the network gained with other participants. Here are just a few comments of the many we could post:
Please don’t hesitate to put your name forward. The training is very helpful and I highly recommend it.
Clear your schedule and turn off your phone because you’ll be sad if you miss a minute.
If you want leadership training, check this out!
The training felt incredibly holistic and culturally competent. I would recommend any leader in a First Nation community to take this workshop series.
The third part in this three-part leadership training series features six 2.5 hour interactive online sessions, developed by a First Nations advisory group and Laara Yaghujaanas, an Indigenous governance specialist. The sessions in the third part (“Leading Nation Rebuilding”) build on what was learned in Leading Self and Leading Others, and focus on the following topics:
- Nation rebuilding
- Decision-making systems
- Responsibilities and jurisdiction
- Development corporations
- Indigenous institutions
- Indigenous rights
Registration is at no cost to those who will commit to participating in all six sessions and agree to provide details feedback on the individual sessions and overall content and approach. For those who have not completed Parts 1 and 2, you will also be given access to the training materials so that you can start Part 3 feeling ready to participate.
