Putting Wellness First: A Band Administrators’ Dialogue on Managing Stress (Day 2)

  • This event has passed.

First Nations Band Administrators are often under immense work and organizational stress, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and discussions about individual health and wellness can be difficult to integrate into daily life.

FNPSS’ upcoming two half-day event entitled “Putting Wellness First: A Band Administrators’ Dialogue on Managing Stress” will provide a space for First Nations Administrators to have these conversations, learn about others’ personal experiences, and leave with knowledge of tools and resources available for personal and community well-being.

Dates: May 26 & 28, 2021
Times: 9:00am – 12:00pm each day
Cost: Free!

Join guest speakers Barbara “Babs” Stevens, Chief Administrative Officer of Skidegate Band Council, David Trawin, Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Kamloops, and Zandra Ross (Williams Lake First Nation), Leadership Coach / Consultant, as they share their own personal stories of their mental and physical health, practical tips for personal wellness, and some “don’ts” that they’ve learned along the way. We’es Tes (or Sandra Martin Harris), Indigenous Focusing Complex Trauma (IFOT) practitioner from Wet’suwet’en Nation of the Laksilyu, Little Frog Clan, and leader of FNPSS’ recent Mindful Mondays virtual sessions, will provide short wellness sessions for all participants to provide a sense of connection, balance, and support during these challenging times.

More information about the agenda is available on the registration page. Note: this event is exclusively for BC First Nations Band Administrators or those with an equivalent role in First Nations Administration BC Community.
