To pick up on the discussions at the March 2020 FNLC Forum on Shared Territories and Overlap that was interrupted when the COVID-19 Pandemic was declared.

To clarify the issues and considerations involved in supporting First Nations efforts to address shared territory and overlap situations (i.e., incorporating cultural protocols and Indigenous laws, resolving disputes, supporting capacity, etc.).

To provide insight into promising practices and pathways forward that First Nations could pursue to address and resolve shared territory and overlap issues.

These free, informal sessions, which will be led by past MTA facilitators, will provide an opportunity for networking and discussion about common challenges, ideas, and program developments in the areas of HR, RIM, and Policy. Are you an Indigenous youth interested in furthering your career in public administration and governance? Are you interested in working with other First Nations youth from across the province to build capacity in First Nation and government public service? Are you enthusiastic, driven, and passionate?

FNPSS is looking for a Youth Coordinator – Contract to support our team. Through outreach and engagement work with First Nations youth from across the province, the Contractor will assist the FNPSS team in its mission to strengthen and enhance capacity in First Nations communities, organizations, and on an individual level. This opportunity is ideal for an aspiring Indigenous youth with an interest in governance and leadership, as it provides an opportunity to work in tandem with other Indigenous youth in communities across British Columbia as well as to witness, network, and coordinate with experienced leaders and decisionmakers in the public service and in partner organizations.
