With great respect, we welcome you to the 2023 B.C. Cabinet and First Nations Leaders’ Gathering, taking place Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3 on the territories of the Xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam), Sḵwx ̓ wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.
The Gathering is a partnership between the First Nations Leadership Council (comprised of the BC Assembly of First Nations, the First Nations Summit and the Union of BC Indian Chiefs) and the Government of British Columbia. As one of the largest meetings of provincial and First Nations leaders in the country, the Gathering is designed to recognize, respect and honour relationships between our respective governments, and facilitate joint dialogue and collaboration.
One-on-one meetings between First Nations leaders and provincial government representatives will be offered on-site. Please register and request your individual meetings as soon as possible.
We wish to acknowledge the stress, trauma and displacement facing many First Nations communities due to this year’s unprecedented natural disasters. As co-hosts we recognize the experiences of First Nations during this crisis and the ways in which those experiences amplify the importance of the government-to-government dialogue offered through the Gathering.
We hope you will join us.
