Intensive RIM Assessment Workshop

The Intensive RIM Assessment Workshop is designed to help First Nations to determine the strengths and weaknesses of their own records and information management program. The Workshop is delivered to smaller cohorts over a one-to-two-month period and includes attending intensive workshops, conducting interviews within your own organization, and analyzing results with the support of expert RIM coaches.

Part 1

Provides an overview of the assessment questionnaire tool – which has been designed to specifically fit the needs and circumstances of a First Nation – and how to use it for a departmental approach. The questionnaire and interview guide ensures participants are asking the right questions that align with Information Governance Maturity Model that covers the eight fundamental areas to implement a successful RIM program: accountability, access, integrity, protection, compliance, availability, retention and disposition.

Between sessions

As participants begin conducting their interviews, they will have an opportunity to check-in with facilitators and other RIM experts for support and guidance along the way.

Part 2

The participants gather again for a review and analysis of their findings during the interview process and determine with the support of RIM experts next steps and recommendations to address priority areas.

What can you do with your results?

You can build a business case and submit it to get support and funding to better manage your records and information

You can visualize the results and present them to Band Council and other levels of management

Who should take this training?

You are the right person if...

You are employed in a Band Administration

You are responsible for organizing the records of the Administration or your department

Ideally, you have taken some records and information training, either with FNPSS or through other sources

The RIM Assessment Workshop was held in April and May 2021. It was at capacity. Watch for more offerings coming soon!

I am not a supporter of Organization that are Federally Funded . Not different than federal elected Indian Act Chiefs n Councils . All are under the policies who they are funded under .

Is this for administrators/staff only or is there spots for interested community members who are not employed by the Band office?

Let’s go Yow!

Teach people to treat their members equally

That looks like some excellent programming!

I'm a 60 scoop survivor, when are we going to recognized by our band as members? Band funding access??services?? All I have is a status card
