In May 2019, UBCIC held a Negotiations Forum to review current developments in negotiations regarding Indigenous Title and Rights. Outcomes of the Forum included the development and endorsement of a set of negotiations principles, direction to advance those principles with the government of British Columbia, and the decision to hold further special meetings on negotiations.
On April 22, 2021 the second UBCIC Negotiations Forum is being held to take stock of developments in negotiations and agreements outside the BC Treaty Commission process regarding Title and Rights, examine the implications of the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples on negotiations, and further develop collective strategies for protecting the Title and Rights of Indigenous Nations through negotiations and agreements.
