STEPS TO THE CAFM DESIGNATION
Indigenous Financial Management Certificate
Canada’s Indigenous Financial Management Certificate. Upon completion of this certificate, you can choose to continue on to AFOA Canada’s Indigenous Financial Management Diploma. This is the second step toward the CAFM designation. Once you have completed the diploma courses, the final step is to ensure you have gained your practical experience and write a final exam to get your
designation.The Fall 2022 Cohort will be accepting applications soon, with the application deadline being September 30, 2022. The first course will take place in person in Vancouver over the week of November 14-18, 2022.
We highly encourage everyone that is interested in applying for the Indigenous Financial Management Certificate Program to take our Indigenous Accounting Fundamentals workshop. This is a 2-day workshop that covers; accounting principles, financial statements introduction, the accounting cycle, bank reconciliations and more.
Taking the Accounting Fundamentals will give you an idea of what the certificate program will entail as well as provide you with some fundamental accounting training, ensuring you’re prepared for the courses in the certificate program!
The workshop will be held at the River Rock Resort on Monday September 12 & Tuesday, September 13. Our Indigenous Governance & HR Conference will begin on Wednesday, September 14 at the River Rock as well – come for accounting and stay for the conference! See agenda and registration above.
The cost of the Accounting Workshop is $295 for both days. You will receive a certificate upon completion.
