From increased floods, wildfires to sea level rise and impacts on traditional foods and health, climate change touches so many aspects of our lives. With the support of the Canadian Centre for Climate Services, Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions and FNESS, this webinar will present what the 1.5 °C threshold, as set out in the Paris Agreement, could mean for First Nations in BC under different scenarios of global warming; why the 1.5 °C threshold is important and how the projections can inform adaptation and motivate mitigation efforts. This webinar will break down some of the climate change technical jargon and explain general trends and projections of climate change in BC. Finally, this webinar will feature First Nations climate leaders that are striving to solve the climate crisis and adapt to future global warming scenarios.
