We'es Tes (or Sandra Martin Harris) is from the Wet’suwet’en Nation of the Laksilyu, Little Frog Clan, and is a member of the Witset First Nation. Sandra is an Indigenous Focusing Complex Trauma (IFOT) practitioner working with health, social justice, and frontline workers. This work helps her share teachings about inter-generational trauma, grief and loss, using a body-centered and land-based approach.

With the fiscal year-end coming up and ongoing uncertainty on reporting requirements and financial accountability, webinar panelists will discuss how they have been managing their finances to be able to pivot and manage their COVID relief funds for audits and budgets. Join Sukhi Chouhan (Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of BC), Brian Conner (Penticton Indian Band) and Heather Fader (Shackan Indian Band) to learn how other First Nations are preparing for the unknown, from ensuring they can report out on their COVID spending to being able to apply for newly-released funds to budgeting for the uncertain times ahead. FNPSS would like to recognize the support of AFOA BC in bringing this webinar to life!

As COVID-19 vaccines become available in British Columbia, remote First Nations are among the first to receive doses for their community members. Join Chief Kevin Peacey from Klahoose First Nation, Mariah Charleson from Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council, Feddie Louie from Tahltan Band Council, and Dr. Nel Wieman from the First Nations Health Authority as they share stories about what has worked, what has been challenging, and what they have learned during the implementation process.

This Management Training Academy on Human Resources Management will be delivered once a week over a 3 week period. Day 1 will cover HR foundational topics including Strategic HR Planning and Succession Planning that provides formal processes for building capacity to meet current and future human resource needs. Day 2 will focus on the legal aspects of HR, including the day-to-day legal obligations as an employer, as well as recent changes to legislation due to COVID-19, followed by a talk on promoting health and wellness among staff during the pandemic. Lastly, day 3 will cover the importance of establishing and maintaining effective workplace relationships and managing performance effectively.
